Welcome to Ozcat Radio’s Vallejo-based chat blog. Feel free to join and join in. In order to keep down the spammers and scammers, this blog is usually moderated, but we’re trying to slip past the bad guys by opening it up to listener registration for a few hours whenever we announce it on the air. If you give us your email address (which we won’t abuse) you’ll be registered and able to comment any time.

We’re still caught between celebratory cheers and shell-shock here. Mostly cheers though. After a 3 1/2 year struggle, the FCC has granted Ozcat Radio a license for KZCT-FM, at 89.5 FM. This is huge! It’s the first new frequency in the Bay area in forever, and the entire Ozcat staff has thrown thousands of volunteer hours into getting us here. Kudos and thanks to all.
Now begins the work, (and FUN!) as we finally get to promote this station. We’ve been hoping and planning for this for a while, so when people ask what we’re going to do with it, well, anyone who has caught the station over the past few years knows pretty much what we’re going to do with it. We’ve been doing it already. Now we get to do it for real, on the air, and we have 3+ years worth of ideas just screaming to be uncorked. It’s our intention to make this a true community radio station for Vallejo. You’re invited to join in and help. We’ll work out how you can do that, but for now, we’re putting some of our plans into action, like this blog. Enjoy it!
